Visit us at one of our offices in Romania; you can find the addresses under "Contact". (We advise you to apply early, because the sooner you apply for the program the easier it will be to find you a family to stay with. If you register late, there is a chance you will not get a host family.).
Take the SLEP test (Secondary Level English Proficiency).
Fill out the application form.
Pay a portion of the program fee.
Our partners in the United States review your application and find you a coordinator.
You are assigned a coordinator who will be responsible for you in the States.
The coordinator finds you a host family, and you pay the rest of your program fee, plus your Student Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) Fee.
Your DS 2019 form is issued, and we help you fill out the documents you need to apply for the appropriate visa (J-1) at the U.S. Embassy.
Pay your visa fee according to the instructions you receive from American Experience.
Apply for your J-1 visa.
We find you the right airline ticket.
Attend information sessions and orientations.
