This experience is worth every effort because it is absolutely unique!I never thought it could be like this. The family is great, the kids also, I’am doing pretty well if I say so myself. I already drove a Volvo, I have a laptop, the family opened a bank account for me, I have my own room, basically anything I want. They treat me like a princess. I am a member of the fitness club that has a pool, Jacuzzi, it’s absolutely amazing!
I’ve spent a couple of days in New York for training, they have the best scenary, a sunset with boats at sea, you would not believe. I have so much I’d like to talk about that it’s simply impossible to say in just a few lines! This experience is worth every effort because it is absolutely unique.
I’ve done a little bit of everything !One Friday I left for Chicago, and guess what? I got there just fine. The family is wonderful, the children are too, their mother is fantastic and I hope everything goes well. I’m very happy with everything I found here and It’s all so much better than I expected. I work Mondays through Fridays from 2:30 pm until 6:30. I’m always free on week-ends and I would like to do so many things that I don’t even know where to start. I have lots of spare time and that’s ok, I’m looking forward to starting my courses.
The house Is lovely. I live in the basement and I have all the comfort I could wish for.
I visited the city, it’s wonderful, and I still have many more interesting places to see and lots of happy moments to live. I went out clubbing, they’re ok, I’ve done a little bit of everything. I have all the necessary comfort, a flexible schedule and I live among wonderful people. This is a truly amazing experience.
An experience worth living! I am so ok! The family is really cool, I am very lucky to have them and they are lucky to have me (they say); the children are very cute, very good, well behaved. I have settled in better than I had expected, and I’m not homesick yet, simply because I already feel at home in my host family’s house. I started attending courses at university.... I have classes every Tuesday evening from 19:00 to 22:00.
I am not driving yet, I am at the stage of practising, I was a little scared for a while but now I am determined to chase it away, I hope I’ll succeed.
I made some friends among the au pairs, I even met a girl from Arad, who, unfortunately will leave in about a week, because she finished the program, but I am very happy that I got to know her, she is very sweet.
Then again I met another Romanian girl from Satu Mare, and I get along very well with two other au pairs, one from Columbia and the other from South Africa.
I didn’t have much time to visit, but I have been to Wisconsin –Milwaukee, Downtown Chicago at Navy Pier for a bit....Kankakee.
I really hope to have the opportunity to go to Florida, since my host family will take me with them on vacation in February.
Here, in West Dundee, where I am, in my spare time I like to go to movies, to the mall or sometimes I take up more hours of babysitting so I can have more pocket money.
Not only do I like my host family but my neighbours are very nice as well.
Last week I had a guest, Edina, the au pair from Romania, and we went to a concert, because there was a festival organized in the town.
Usually I spend my weekends with the family, with the kids, we go to festivals, to different events together, to the restaurant.
Long story short, this is an experience that’s really worth living, and I am sure that I’ll have plenty beautiful moments to live and to share.
