Health Insurance

The American health system is completely different from ours. The major difference is made in the costs area. Everything is extremely expensive and has to be covered by the patient. There is no such thing as Government support ( there are few exceptions like people with disabilities or people that have retired). Other that that, the costs are rather high given the fact that they use the latest technology and if you don't have health insurance you will have to cover all the expenses in case of an accident or any type of medical consultation. 

 
All of the participants that apply for the AE programs will receive health insurance, in accordance with the legal regulations made by the US State Department, and it is included in the cost of the program. The insurance is necessary for being able to travel outside Romania and it is valid on the territory of USA as well as on the territory of the transit countries.   
The insurance covers the costs of eventual medical treatments like hospitalization, immediate return to your home country for medical reasons, emergencies in case of dental problems, loss of luggage or plane ticket, etc
