Tax return

During the period in which you are going to work on the territory of USA, out of your wage, there are going to be held some taxes: State Tax and Federal Income Tax. American Experience can recover these taxes and transfer them into your bank account. It is good for you to know that you should have an US dollar bank account so that you don’t have losses in relation with the differences between the currencies. The process of tax return may take between 30 to 90 days; it might even take up to 6 months for the Medicare or Social Security Number taxes to be returned but usually the latter are not held out of the wages of Work and Travel participants.
 

For your tax return file, you need the following documents:

the form has to be filled in using a black ball pen and has to be written only in capital letters with no diacritical signs
W2 formthe original form or your last pay slip (from each employer)








 
  • The pay slip can be thought of as a receipt that remains in your possession after detaching the pay check from it.
  • The W2 form is issued by the American employer at the end of the financial year, to be more precise, after 1st of January. The form can be mailed to you by the employer.
  • If you had more than one employer,in order for you to recover all of your taxes.  it is good to get a hold of the W2 form or to have the last pay slips from the places you worked at ;

All you have to do is to fetch in the complete file along with the tax return forms correctly completed to one of the American Experience representative.
