What do you need to know before transferring money? The sender (the student) must inform the addressee about the amount sent, the city and the country where the money is sent from. If wanted, he or she can also tell de addressee the control number of the transfer. They must also pay to Western Union the transfer fee which depends on the amount sent (the fee starts from 13 $). If the money is sent with the option “pay on delivery”, the sender will also have to pay an extra $10 fee. BANK ACCOUNT TRANSFER It is convenient for large amounts - thousands of dollars. In order to do a wire transfer to a person in Romania, you need to know the following:
- the Romanian bank’s name and address, where the account is opened;
- the SWIFT code (or a similar code) of the Romanian bank;
- the beneficiary’s name;
- the account number (the account has to be in US dollars).
